Pre-packaged powder for creating suspension of Amoxicillin, a well-known and tolerated antibiotic derived from Penicillin. Amoxicillin has a broad range of antibacterial action, and can be used to help treat dental abscesses. Suspension of Amoxicillin is particularly useful in patients who are suffering from difficulty swallowing and need this antibiotic given in an easy-to-swallow liquid. This suspension powder is sucrose-free, making it especially useful for patients who are diabetic.
Amoxicillin can be administered in capsule and tablets, which patients may find more palatable, alternatively, some suspensions can be mixed with a juice or cordial. Please see the product information leaflet for more information.
These side effects are not guaranteed, however, Nausea and diarrhea are two common side effects which patients may suffer from, and should be prepared for.
