An antibiotic commonly used to treat dental infections, some common skin infections such as rosacea, and several other conditions. Doxycycline can help patients to feel better within several days, and its course should always be completed. Doxycycline is a tetracycline antibiotic and can be administered to patients who are allergic to penicillin. Please note, doxycycline cannot be taken by patients who are actively drinking alcohol.

Doxycycline is not advised in:
Patients who have had an allergic reaction to doxycycline
Patients kidney or liver problems
Patients with an inflamed food pipe
Patients with lupus
Patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding
