Diazepam, of the group benzodiazepines, are typically used in dentistry as a pre-med treatment, something which helps a patient relax before dental surgery. Known for treating anxiety and muscle spasms, 2mg diazepam tablets can help to relax an anxious patient, and often work within a few hours of taking the pill. Generally well-tolerated, Diazepam is a commonly-used medicine to help prepare patients for surgery.
Side effects include drowsiness, confusion, shaky hands and coordination issues.
