Often used as a pre-med to help sooth patient anxiety before dental surgery, these 10mg tablets of diazepam are a strong dose of the benzodiazepine. Diazepam works by increasing gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) levels in the brain, which helps the patient to relax. Indicated for use as a muscle relaxant, anti-anxiety medicine, and for treating seizures, this prescription medicine comes delivered in a packet of 28 10mg tablets.
Grapefruit juice increases the amount of diazepam in your blood, so should be avoided. Caffeine can also increase anxiety levels and should also be avoided before taking diazepam.
Side effects include drowsiness, confusion, shaky hands and coordination issues. This is not a complete list. Always refer to the product information leaflet for more details.
