Flumazenil, also known as Anexate, is a selective benzodiazepine receptor antagonist. It has antagonistic and antidote properties to therapeutically used benzodiazepines, through competitive inhibition. Put simply, Flumazenil is used to reverse the sedative effects of benzodiazepines, often Diazepam.
