This is a 5g tube of a topical anaesthetic, which contains Lidocaine 4% in a liposomal cream. Also known as 'Lmx4 numbing cream', or 'LMX numbing cream', this topical anaesthetic is used to provide surface anaesthetic to the skin before venous cannulation, or venipuncture. As well as before the administration of potentially painful topical treatments on larger surface areas of intact skin. This treatment is not for use in large quantities, and cannot be used on blistered, raw, or particularly damaged areas of skin.
This cream should be applied to intact skin at least half an hour (30 minutes) before your procedure is due.
