A pack of 25 disposable tips for use with SDI Super Etch. These disposable tips are 23G and are colour-coded blue to help differentiate between disposable syringe tips. SDI super etch is a 37% phosphoric acid etchant for enamel and dentin with excellent viscosity and does not impede the use of adhesive. These tips help to ensure accurate placement with their low-gauge cannulas.

Can I use Super Etch Disposable Tips 23G Blue with other etchants?

It is not recommended, as these disposable tips have been designed for SDI Super Etch.

How do I use SDI Super Etch?

SDI has prepared the following instructions for using Super Etch:

1. Isolate tooth. Prepare cavity.
2. Clean the surface to be etched using a nonfluoridated, oil-free prophylaxis paste, or a pumice and water slurry.
3. Rinse thoroughly with water.
4. Thoroughly dry the surface to be etched with dry, oilfree air.
5. CAUTION: DO NOT dispense Super Etch LV without a dispensing tip on. Only use the pre-bent tips supplied.
6. Before dispensing, slightly pull the plunger backward (~1mm) and then push forward.
7. Note: on first usage, or after prolonged storage, extrude a small amount onto a mixing pad for familiarity with the etchant's viscosity and rate of extrusion.
8. Leave on: a. enamel for at least 30 seconds. b. dentin and glass ionomer liner for 20 seconds.
9. Rinse well with water for 5-10 seconds.
10. Remove excess water.
11. Apply bonding agent, or pit and fissure sealant, such as Conseal f, according to manufacturer's instructions.
