Buccolam 10mg (2ml) oromucosal solution pre-filled syringe. Each pre-filled oral syringe contains 10mg Midazolam (as hydrochloride) in 2ml solution
Please note that there are several Buccal Midazolam products on the market, these may differ in the concentration of midazolam in the product and therefore the volume to be administered. When you receive your delivery of these products please ensure that you and your staff are familiar with the dose requirements
Please note: This is currently the only buccal Midazolam we are legally able to supply at present This is because it is the only licensed buccal Midazolam available, and when it is available no other unlicensed products can be supplied.
The 10mg strength Buccolam only states 10 years to less than 18 years on the packet. The use of Midazolam remains ‘off-label’ but the Resuscitation Council (UK) recommends a 10mg (2ml) dose for adults and considers that such ‘off-label’ use of a licensed product is justified in an emergency situation.
Please note that this product is manufactured with a relatively short shelf life of 12months. We understand that when purchased for inclusion in an Emergency Bag, the remaining shelf life is important. However due to the specialist nature of this product, the shelf life of product in the market is often significantly less than this maximum period. We work hard to obtain product with as much life as possible but at times are required to accept more short dated stock to ensure continuity of supply.
