This course must be booked alongside a full training session or 3 1-hour sessions can be booked to create a mini CPD session.

Training Aim

This course aims to improve knowledge and awareness of the role of the infection Prevention/Decontamination lead and their responsibilities.

Training Outcomes

• Awareness and improved knowledge of the roles & responsibilities of the Infection Control/Decontamination Lead
• Understanding of the decontamination process
• Knowledge and understanding of HTM 01-05 EQRs and Best Practice
• Knowledge and understanding of The Health & Social Care Act Approved Code of Practice for the prevention of infections
• Awareness of the audits to be completed with regards to Infection Prevention and Decontamination
• Understands the importance of local infection control and decontamination policies and of staff awareness
